Let’s get a pull-up
Here are a few important things to know about pull-ups:
It takes much longer than you think. It took me a year to get my first pull up while training 3x per week. It may not take you that long. All bodies are different. BUT it will not happen in 6 weeks unless you were already pretty close to getting your first pull up already. If you start from zero previous effort like I did, it could take up to a year.
Body Weight Matters. The heavier you are, the harder it will be. Some people are taller and naturally have a larger amount of weight when they are at their healthiest. Therefore, I’m NOT telling you that you should lose weight to get a pull up. I’m only telling you the facts: the more you weigh the more you have to pull. If you are 5 feet tall and a lean runner it will be easier for you than for someone who is almost six feet tall who carries more weight.
You don’t have to be an athlete or special in any way to get a pull up. You just have to train for it every week until it happens. You can do anything you train for. Make it a year long goal to start and if you get it earlier that’s GREAT. If you decided to ride your bike across the country and back you could do it if you trained for it for a few years. You can do anything you train for.
